The Hold

Katrín Davíðsdóttir, like many, had a tough year. Due to the pandemic she hadn’t been home to Iceland to see her family for a year and she had to pull out from Dubai due to a back injury which prevented her from regular training.

None of the athletes knew what was in store for the 2020 CrossFit Games or if they were even going to happen. Once Katrín heard there would be a Games, although it would look different than years past, she was ready to take them on head first.

During the first stage of the CrossFit Games, she knew she needed to secure a top 5 spot to make it to the second stage in Aromas, CA at the ranch. After Day 1, no one was sure if it could happen. She came back on Day 2 and won back to back events. The standout event being Event 7, The Handstand Hold. This is the story of her massive win and how it helped bring her to Stage 2 in Aromas eventually earning 2nd place at the CrossFit Games.
