CompTrain is seeking a highly-motivated data scientist who can help build the foundation for our data team. Our mobile training platform is home to one of the largest groups of competitors in the functional fitness space and we are looking for someone who can effectively gather data, create custom models, and deliver custom algorithms that will revolutionize our athlete’s training and take them to the next level. A rockstar data scientist at CompTrain will need to work with athletes in order to gather essential data and be able to work in collaboration with the project managers and developers on project timelines and deliverables. You should be highly analytical, and be able to not only gather complex data as it pertains to sport and fitness but also be able to interpret it in order to create algorithms for use in our app. You will also help to guide in more data-driven decision-making processes, and help to establish our data collection protocols and foundation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake in data gathering data
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions about product requirements and features
  • Work with project managers and developers on delivering key features 
  • Build predictive model algorithms
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
  • You have a BSc/BA in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or relevant field; a graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred. 
  • Experience using statistical computer languages such as R, Python, SQL, etc.
  • You have a problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with agile development methodology
  • Team-focused and able to put the team and business’s needs above your own. 
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders

CompTrain is seeking a proven sales leader to be our Head of Business Development and Sales.  

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you are a seasoned, roll-up the sleeves B2B sales leader who builds and leads a high performance sales team through the cradle-to-grave business development and sales processes. Additionally, you will use your experience in forming strategic partnerships to shape long-lasting alliances with other best-in-class businesses in the functional fitness and related industries.

Your key tasks include, but are not limited to:  recruiting and management of an industry leading sales force, go-to-market strategy creation and execution, development and closure of new and strategic business opportunities within the global functional fitness market and industry, and end-user growth via CompTrain’s various go-to-market channels.

To accomplish this mission, you will have a high degree of autonomy based on your past successes and relevant experience. You must be a great communicator, organized, and have proven success at developing and managing exceptional business development and sales organizations.

Job Duties

  • Build a high-performance sales organization whose ethos embodies that of CompTrain’s competitor customers.
  • Lead by example.  Demonstrate success so that your team will follow.
  • Drive the business development and sales efforts at CompTrain by identifying, evaluating, cultivating and capturing new business in the functional fitness marketplace.
  • Analyze and understand CompTrain Gym’s customer base and build a customer enhancing strategy to grow our subscriber base through this channel.
  • Build a business development pipeline and generate new revenue by identifying, qualifying, and capturing new partnership opportunities.
  • Shape and nurture lasting relationships with end-users in high priority market segments (eg. military).
  • Develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators by using market intelligence and customer feedback to help drive sales strategy and deliver compelling business development programs.
  • Execute capture management processes that achieve organic growth objectives, while protecting/expanding core market positions
  • Identify and interpret information requests to determine customer requirements.
  • Create pricing strategy and competitive pricing models.
  • Manage the proposal process.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and lead business development meetings with customers and partners (eg. industry partners, dealers, reps, etc.).
  • Identify, introduce and coordinate teaming partner opportunities and relationships.
  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to meet customer needs.
  • Attend events, meetings, trade shows, competitions and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends. Support marketing efforts at trade shows, competitions, expos, etc.
  • Develop and quantify a budget for business development and sales.
  • Keep the team abreast of current and anticipated opportunities and trends.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related discipline required

About You:

7+ years business development and sales experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of business development processes, pursuit development, proposals and negotiations
  • Proven sales leader with 10+ years of work experience with 5+ years leading business development and/or sales teams with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience promoting SaaS-based fitness products
  • Proven background in shaping go-to-market strategies and demonstrating success in execution
  • Track record of being part of fast-paced, highly successful organizations
  • A history of successful collaboration and partnering with key internal and external stakeholders
  • A strong and decisive mindset that can drive tactical execution while balancing strategic vision with a bias towards action
  • An outstanding leader with the ability to set high, attainable goals and help the team achieve world-class results
  • Deep appreciation and empathy for our users and customers with a strong commitment to customer advocacy and success
  • An experienced functional fitness athlete with strong knowledge of functional fitness movements, terminology and brands
  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification or higher strongly preferred

Travel

Moderate travel is required – approximately 50%.

CompTrain is seeking a highly-motivated social engagement specialist who can aid in growing and maintaining our social platforms. Our mobile training platform is home to one of the largest groups of competitors in the functional fitness space, and we are looking for someone who wants to create and maintain meaningful relationships with athletes across the globe who want to live and perform at their highest level.  A rockstar social engagement specialist at CompTrain will need to have strong social strategy skills, good time management, and strong desire to engage with our community. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain our social channels such as: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and any other emerging platforms
  • Work with digital marketing team to execute engaging social media campaigns to help with growth across social channels
  • Engage with athletes on a daily basis by posting, reposting, responding to comments/DMs, messaging with our community, etc. 
  • Organize and schedule social posts on a weekly basis
  • Utilize social analytics tools to monitor performance across all channels including individual post performance along with larger, overarching campaigns

  • Proven experience as a Social Media Manager
  • You have knowledge of fitness and health to bring insight to those looking to enhance theirs
  • Understanding of social trends, content, and marketing practices within the industry
