Job Description

At CompTrain, coaching is more than just having an ability to see and correct movement faults. To succeed in this role, you’ll need a real passion for coaching and building a community of competitive CrossFit athletes. 

You will be the primary point of contact for thousands of athletes of all ability and experience levels and will help with everything from publishing their workouts online to answering specific programming questions. In this role, you will be directly communicating with our athletes via email/mobile platforms on a daily basis. If you have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and like to creatively “geek out” about programming, we would like to hear from you.

This is an in-person, full-time position. Candidates must be U.S. based will need to be willing to relocate to the Boston area.

Objectives of this Role

  • Primary point of contact for all support, service, and coaching to members via email and through the mobile platforms
  • Cultivate the CompTrain community by answering coaching questions and moderating discussion on workout posts
  • Communicate with Games-level athletes on coaching and programming solutions
  • Own the workout publication process. Work directly with the Head Coach to modify, proofread, and schedule all CompTrain programming over web and app
  • Collect and communicate member insights to the rest of the team to help improve the user experience
  • Provide additional support to all Product teams and efforts

Skills and Qualifications

  • CrossFit Level 1 certification (L2 or L3 preferred) ⠀
  • 2-3 years of competitive CrossFit coaching experience, with the capability to coach the beginner athlete to the Games-bound athlete remotely
  • Understanding of the CompTrain philosophy along with a passion to coach others in their competitive journey
  • Authentic desire to make the success of CompTrain athletes your top priority 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills ⠀
  • Superb attention to detail, proofreading written documents
  • Self-learner, and has the curiosity to develop in all areas related to coaching  
  • Agile and comfortable adapting to change

At CompTrain, marketing is about understanding how to build a tribe of like-minded people.  Our ideal candidate has experience leading and inspiring a marketing team, understands the world of competitive CrossFit, and has experience developing and executing marketing campaigns (from engaging content, to lead generation, to data-driven strategy). Objectives of this Role

  • Lead the marketing team to design, execute, test, and evolve marketing campaigns to improve customer nurturing tactics
  • Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish
  • Foster customer retention 
  • Create, manage, and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all branding and public-­facing communications, including print, digital, video, and in-person events
  • Establish budgets and ensure projects and teams are in line with the budget  
  • Establish and document internal processes, best practices, and guidelines for the marketing team
  • Provide additional support to all marketing teams and efforts
  • Coordinate and manage all real-life events from messaging to event setup, staffing, branding, and execution. 
  • Gather customer and market insights through various analytics tools to inform future campaign development, increase customer conversions, lower churn rates and generate more qualified leads
  • Oversee and develop marketing initiatives with strategic partners

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • Experience building a marketing team from ground zero
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity
  • Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns
  • Experience with Competitive CrossFit
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools (HubSpot)
  • Experience with digital and direct response marketing
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication
  • Experience with organic and paid acquisition channels (content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis)
  • Understanding of public relations
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change
